Information within the history section has been collated by local knowledge passed down/Antique books/maps/photos’/papers’ etc, even small snippets can take hours of work (some collected over 20 years some a great deal longer). They are not for reproduction in commercial products but to pass our heritage down and make it readily available for all. We aim not to use copyrighted items without permission from the owners. Whilst most information will be about New Wortley other areas will become more encompassed as some of our ancestors came from far a field and were attracted by the concept of a better life, not much different to now in the 21st centuary.Please note also that boundaries constantly change, but our aim to is keep New Wortley from disappearing and engulfed into the surrounding area.
